libfakeroot software package provides tool for simulating superuser privileges - shared libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libfakeroot
libfakeroot is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libfakeroot package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libfakeroot *
You will get with libfakeroot package name, version, architecture and description in a table
